Had the gyro player for lunch take away, it is simply amazing. The meat is well grilled well cooked, the fries are very crunchy and well fried. Even in the box they are still crunchy when eaten at home. Rice is seasoned well, if anything the spicy sauce is not really spicy, maybe need to ask extra extra spicy next time. Not too many people early for lunch, easy to order, fast to get it. Very well priced and the portion is large enough, maybe a bit too much for one person. Will try other items from the menu for sure, their sticks looks amazing but that will be for the next order. Keep going guys great job !!
My go to Souvlaki truck and favorite one as well! Best in Astoria Queens! Always ask for more hero bread..you can never have enough bread!! Rain, snow or sleet this place is always a great place to have a quick bite and has great customer service! They’re also located in different parts of Queens so that also comes in handy!
I love the meat on a stick from Franky's! Excellent beef or chicken served hot with Italian bread and Dr. Brown's black cherry soda!
I’ve been here multiple times and the food has been excellent every time. There’s a Greek truck much closer to where I live, but I choose to walk the extra 15 min just to come here. The last item I ordered was a Greek salad with chicken and it was amazing
My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE The Flavor hasn't changed since I was a kid... ALWAYS Fresh n Delicious!! I Live in Lake George now but EVERY trip home to Astoria, I make sure to Stop by n grab 1 or 10 to take with me lol.
When I used to work in this area over ten years ago, I would always stop here for my lunch. I haven’t had it in a very long time so it is great to know that the food is still amazing. I purchased two chicken kebabs just as I have always done in the past. I’m happy with my purchase. The owner used to cook his food using a food cart but has upgraded to a food truck 7 years ago. He has expanded to three other locations in Queens in addition to the Steinway St location. Prices are still affordable for amazing food.
Their chicken sticks are a bomb ass snack! The salad is fresh & flavorful. The Greek fries are so good too! This truck is a gem when I’m shopping in the area.
One of the best souvlaki food trucks in my opinion. I grew up in Astoria and remember ordering food from them when they were only a small push cart on the corner of Steinway and 31st Avenue. Back then they only sold souvlaki sticks with a slice of Italian bread. And I think it was Franky’s dad or uncle that used to man the grill. Was so happy to see a few years ago when they upgraded to a big food truck and introduced other items on the menu. Now they offer lamb, pork, shrimp and beef sticks, rice, French fries and hot dogs. Whatever meat you decide on is always perfectly cooked, tasty and juicy. I think the key is the marinate they use. The meat is just so tasty and tender. I’ve had them with the lemon, bbq sauce, tzatziki and the spicy sauce—all are tasty. And it’s a bargain at only 3 a stick. The French fries is also good, surprisingly. I recommend getting the fries with feta cheese—so good! There is usually a crowd of people around the food truck. They even have plastic chairs for people to sit, eat and hang out in. I’ve heard people say that they’ve traveled from other neighborhoods just to get food from them. I believe it. I think they also now have a second food truck in a different location to meet demand. I think everyone should try Franky’s. Can’t go wrong with their food and you’ll be helping to support a family owned business. Tip: Cash only but there’s an ATM attached to truck. Call and order in advance to skip the lines.
